The short answer: no. Instagram never notifies anyone when you save their post, and no one can see your Saved list. Creators and businesses with a professional account can see how many people saved a post in Insights, but never who. Save away: your saves are private.

What the Creator Can and Can't See

Which Instagram Actions Send a Notification?

What you do Is the creator notified?
Like a postYes
CommentYes
Follow the accountYes
Save a postNo, only an anonymous count in Insights
Add it to a collectionNo
Screenshot a post, reel or storyNo
Screenshot a disappearing photo or video in DMsYes
Share the post to another app (like Sprink)No

Can Anyone See What You've Saved?

No. Your Saved section and every collection in it are visible only to you. The one exception: if you add a post to a collection you've chosen to share with friends, those friends can see it.

"Likes are public. Saves are personal. That's exactly why people save the things they really care about."

Private, but Hard to Find Again

The catch with Instagram saves isn't privacy. It's finding them later. Saved posts have no search, and they disappear if the creator deletes the post. If you're saving recipes, outfits or travel spots you actually want to come back to, share them to Sprink instead. It's just as private (no notifications, and nobody sees your library unless you share something), but every save is sorted by topic, searchable by keyword and kept even if the original goes away.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about Instagram saves and privacy.

Does Instagram notify someone when you save their post?

No. Instagram does not send any notification when you save a post. Saving is private, and the person who posted it is never told who saved it.

Can people see who saved their Instagram post?

No. Creators and businesses with a professional account can see how many times a post was saved in Insights, but never which accounts saved it. Personal accounts don't see save counts at all, and save counts aren't shown publicly on posts.

Can anyone see what I've saved on Instagram?

No. Your Saved section and your collections are only visible to you. Other people can't see what you've saved, unless you add a post to a collection you've chosen to share with friends.

Does Instagram notify when you screenshot a post?

Not for regular posts, reels or stories. Instagram only notifies the sender when you screenshot a disappearing photo or video sent in a direct message, or messages in vanish mode.

Does sharing an Instagram post to another app notify the creator?

No. Sharing a post to another app, for example by tapping Share and choosing Sprink, doesn't send the creator a notification. At most, professional accounts may see an overall share count in Insights, never who shared.
